About Our Center

Noor Islamic Center (NIC) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit Islamic organization incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Guided by a Board of Directors and dedicated volunteers, NIC is committed to serving the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the Muslim community.

NIC currently operates from a leased facility in Newport News, Virginia, while actively working toward acquiring a permanent home to support long-term growth. The Center primarily serves the Muslim community in the Hampton Roads area, with a strong base in Newport News, Virginia.

What began with weekly Jumu‘ah prayers has quickly grown into a trusted community center offering religious education, youth and family programs, community support services, and major Islamic events such as Ramadan and Eid. This growth reflects the strong trust, participation, and need within the community.

NIC’s vision is to establish a welcoming, inclusive, and youth-centered Islamic Center that nurtures faith, knowledge, leadership, and a sense of belonging for current and future generations. We believe children and youth are the heart of our community and are committed to empowering them through meaningful engagement and leadership opportunities.

To meet growing community needs, NIC is working toward establishing a permanent facility that will include a masjid, classrooms, community spaces, and family services. With reliance on Allah (SWT) and the continued support of our community, we are confident this vision will become a reality, Insha’Allah.
